Foundation of the Children's Hospice Switzerland
A child is so ill that death is not to be prevented. It's a terrible news for the child and his family. A children's hospice helps to deal with the extraordinary situation. It provides relief - "holiday" - to the child and his family: children and young people with life-limiting diseases, alone or accompanied by their families, can have temporary care up to thirty days a year at the hospice. At the request of the family there is the opportunity to spend the last phase, and until the death, in the hospice.Help for terminally ill children. Switzerland needs a children's hospice.
The Foundation is to care for life-threatening or terminally ill children, adolescents and young adults and those families affected. It assists in nursing and in terms of school-based education, with bereavement support and care for the affected families after death. The Foundation is a charitable organization. It is politically and religiously neutral.In Switzerland, there is no such hospice yet. This is going to change.
The Children's Hospice Foundation Switzerland has set a goal to open a hospice for children with space for eight families as soon as possible. The organizational and conceptual foundations have been laid. Once enough funds for the establishment and operation of a children's hospice are available, terminally ill children in Switzerland and their families will be able to count on professional support in their difficult journey.
